About the Interview Question Tool
If you do a web search for anything close to “coding interview questions”, you will be treated to a bounty of questions. A good thing, for sure, but actually making use of these questions in any sort of repetitive and complete manner is difficult. Make a list…a spreadsheet…flash cards…or whatever you want and a the collection becomes too big to be useful in any sort of an effective manner; or so I found.
In addition to the above, you probably will not get a list of questions. In most cases, the interviewer is likely to pepper their target with many different types of questions one after the other.
I wanted a tool to simulate that rapid-fire questioning while while giving me space to work out the code, track my progress and, most importantly, help target areas in need of improvement.
The Interview Question Tool is all of that and more.
It delivers the questions, over four-hundred at the time of this writing, just as an interviewer would. The questions are randomly chosen, but the user can set limits and topics based on the role being targeted. The questions are delivered and a timer starts. There is the choice of two different coding workspaces and a few links to help with the answer if the roadblocks thwart progress. Answers can be marked Correct or Incorrect and this is stored along with the question and the time it took. The record and score are updated automatically and the next question is thrown.
Along with the record of questions that were marked incorrect, a study pad is available for notes during and after answering the question. These notes are saved right along with the question.
On the event the answer was right, but the user took a long time or just feels more study is needed, this can be quickly marked in the Study Plan for later review.
Overall, I find this useful and enjoyable to use. Perhaps others might, as well. Feel free to use and please let me now any feedback; both positive and negative.
